Slow Carb diet Shopping List
Here’s the simplest, most straightforward slow carb diet shopping list you’ll find. No detailed explanations, just exactly what’s good to buy!
This is a simple list, and is definitely not the limits of the foods you can have. It’s just a simple shopping list – not an allowed food list.
Core items (buy the first time you go):
- Olive oil
- Mexican spice mix
- Sea salt
- Coconut oil or ghee
- Pepper
- Saigon cinnamon (check organic section)
Weekly items:
Legumes
1/2 can usually equals 1 meal. Most people have 25 meals per week (4 per day except cheat day is one meal). Use a combination of canned beans and fresh cooked lentils.
- Canned beans – the best are Red Kidney Beans, Black Beans, White beans
- Red split lentils – dry (boil these)
Protein
- Chicken breasts
- Canned tuna in water
- Eggs – get 2 or 3 dozen – free range, avoid anything with added Omega or Vitamins.
- Lean ground beef (grass fed preferably)
- Steak if desired (grass fed)
Vegetables
- Frozen spinach
- Frozen green beans
- Fresh spinach
- Brocolli crowns
- Cauliflower
- Red Cabbage
- Red pepper
- Lemons – for water and dressing
Healthy Fats
- Avocado
- Natural butter – the best is grass fed
- Almond butter (every 2 weeks) – OR natural, salted peanut butter if budget does not allow for almond butter
